A BIT OF HISTORY:Ìý

º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STAT was developed in 2005 by Celia Davidson Francis, the first Director of Alumni Relations for The º£½ÇÉ¬Çø, with the blessiong of the then º£½ÇÉ¬Çø Vice Chancellor, Professor E. Nigel Harris. It was officially launched on January 23, 2006 on the 3 campuses which existed at the time - Cave Hill, Mona and St. Augustine. The Director is Regional Coordinator of the Corps and is located in theÌýInstitutional Advancement Division (º£½ÇÉ¬Çø Regional Headquarters). The Campus Alumni Officers guide and facilitate theirÌýrespective º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STAT CorpsÌýas they execute their annual mandates and continue to innovate and excel. The º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STAT Corps has been recognised as a Leadership Incubator with Alumni Ambassadors becoming Commonwealth Scholars, Rhodes Scholars, Queen's Young Leaders, Awardees of Governors General and Prime Ministers, Chevening Scholars and more - and many going on to hold leadership positions in the private and public sectors and government of their Caribbean nations. GLOBAL (formerly Open) CAMPUS:ÌýSubsequent to the approval of the formation of the Open Campus by The º£½ÇÉ¬Çø Council in April 2007, itÌýwas formally launched on July 4, 2008 at the Council of the Caribbean Heads of Government annual meeting in Antigua & Barbuda. The first ever Cohort of º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STATOpen Campus Ambassadors was formed in 2011 as follows:ÌýÌýMr. Walter Berkeley – St. Lucia;ÌýMs. Shadae Bernard – Jamaica;ÌýMrs. Sandra ColthirstÌý – Jamaica;ÌýMs. Nadia Riviere – Dominica andÌýMs. Janeel KingÌýÌý - St. Vincent & the Grenadines.ÌýAs the Student Guild President is an ex-oficio º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STAT Ambassador, Mr. Peter Dunn (Jamaica) and Mrs. Keneisha Thom-Selvon (Trinidad & Tobago) also became OC º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STAT Ambassadors. The Open Campus was renamed the Global Campus on August 1, 2023. Ìý

FIVE ISLANDS CAMPUS:ÌýOn May 27,Ìý2019, the University Finance and General Purposes Committee (UF&GPC) approved the establishment of Five Islands Campus as The º£½ÇÉ¬Çø's 5th Campus,Ìýlocated in Antigua and Barbuda.The first ever cohort of º£½ÇÉ¬Çø STAT Five Islands Ambassadors was formed on April 19, 2021 and the founding President was Caleb Gardiner.
